Hobby vs Passion

Hobby is something you do in your spare time for pleasure and relaxation. People look forward to it because it’s the time they can finally get away from their hectic schedules to do something they enjoy.
Passion on the other hand, is something you love and would gladly lose sleep over to do it. It is the fuel that keeps you awake 3 o’clock in the morning, the drive that keeps you going even when everyone else thinks you’re crazy.
It is inspiring when you see someone strive for their passion. They quit their job, lose friends and money all for their love and belief. But it’s devastating when you mistakenly believe your hobby is your passion.
Passion is something you are willing to give up the chance to earn more money in order to do it, while hobby is something you are spending money on to feel better.
So if you planning to quit your day job and focus on your passion, make sure it isn’t actually your hobby. The good thing is, if it’s really your passion, you’ll figure out how to make a living out of it.
I’m not willing to give up anything for my hobby. XD Best to keep it in balance and not do unnecessary things.
What if someone’s passion is shopping? rofl
With today’s technology, people can shop till the AM with online shopping sites.
You can have no time for hobbies, but always have time for passion.
Having a passion also means taking it seriously and you are willing to go the extra mile for it. (D&D is serious biznez =p)
If hobbies are something that you only have time to do for relaxation, then the best hobby in the world must be sleeping. XD

thats exactly why it is keeping me from sleeping. and why i am doing it. this is passion and u will know it.
if u dont know its probably ur hobby.
u guys got it all wrong..shopping..D&D .. all that cannot be passion.. u dont know what is passion. it comes with a dream.. its not only relaxation and fun..
it will come with frustration, obstacles.. and greatness. inspire, creativity and crazyness. its not even unnecessary because u dont know what is passion. and ull never know until u look inside you.
@nick I don’t think you can ever classify shopping as passion. It’s just wrong. LOL.
Passion is a subset of obsession, which is a subset of madness. Explains why people can go mad from being too passionate about something.

Hey Ed, just because D&D and shopping is not YOUR passion doesn’t mean it is not other people’s passion. Some of us lose sleep to play the game.

@KC – I don’t think dat’s a good a idea. I think it sounds abit ‘obscene’ and other peple might get the wrong idea… :S
what if turning a hobby into a passion?
passion + hobby thats making money at the same time? hehe.. im sure some would not mind losing sleep or time to concentrate doing on something that satisfy them and bringing them $$ at the same time.
